Mikko has become a beloved favorite at The Dog Ranch. Sweet, loving he has captured the hearts of everyone he meets. 2yrs old, 35 lbs, he is up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative. Mikko would do best as the only dog in the home for now. But with the right guidance & patient introduction, he could learn to coexist with another dog. To make his transition smoother, we're offering to cover the cost of training in his foster or adopters home. email: AdoptRoadToHome@gmail.com Call or text to: 516-728-0293

Jax - COURTESY LISTING

This is Jax. He is a 10 month old Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix. He was rescued off of Craigslist but unfortunately his current owner cannot provide him with the lifestyle he needs. He needs a home that will allow him to do what he was born to do which is heard livestock. He is full of energy but is very obedient and easy to train when he is getting the exercise he needs. He would make an amazing farm dog and be a loving addition to your family since he was raised around a toddler and is great with kids. Please contact Brittney at 720-928-1893 if you are interested or have any questions.

Learn more about Ivy Willow

Ivy Willow

Ivy may be petite, but she is chock full of heeler personality! She is sweet, snuggly, playful, energetic, and feisty, but she is very under-socialized. This pup is a challenge and will need an experienced handler. Ivy struggles with walks in the bustling neighborhood of her foster home. She has anxious energy that leads her to pull on the leash, lunge, bark, and nip her foster siblings. At home, Ivy is still working on potty training and hasn't been destructive in the house. She is very athletic and curious, and will use that to her advantage to get onto furniture or counter tops. She enjoys playing on her own, but also wants to play with her foster family. Ivy needs a calming home and lots of guidance to become the best dog she can be.

Tajin

Tajin arrived at a local shelter in NM and is a sweet and food motivated girl! She enjoys the company of other dogs and is friendly and calm in her kennel. The local shelter said she was very shy but she is not shy in her foster home. She is very alert and likes to be near her people. She is learning to crate up and sleeps through the night. Tajin likes to play chase but probably no small dogs or cats as her heeler traits kick in and she tries to herd them. Please ask to meet this beautiful girl soon!

He loves playing fetch and has no problems with treats or toys with other dogs. Copper is a social butterfly and he gets along with everyone he meets. Despite a rough past after being chained up, kept in a garage, and having cruel people throw rocks at him and kick him, he’s as sweet as can be and he has a heart of gold. He’s a prime example of how resilient dogs are as he puts his best paw forward because he knows life must get better from here. Can you be Copper’s hero to show him the good life for once and for all? Ask to meet Copper today!

Learn more about Artemisia

Artemisia

Artemis - the momma, and the dog that raises the bar, and changes your life for the better. This sweet girl has been thru the ringer and gave everything to her healthy puppies. She was neglected, mistreated, and likely lived most of her life as a stray. She needs patience and commitment to support her returning to a healthy weight with frequent meals, and her person to bond with. She's quiet and observant, and she's learning how to trust and be loved. She is for someone with experience and has time to feed her throughout the day and to take extra walks with.

Maxine (2 years, 1 month)

Learn more about Maxine

Maxine

I might be 2 years old but I am still full of puppy energy. I've been with my foster mom for almost a week now and I have learned two commands, "sit" and "flat". We are working on "wait" and "down" too. I love to go for walks and do pretty good on a leash. Other animals, cars and bikes are sure hard to ignore though. I think I would LOVE to have a big yard to run in, especially when I get the zoomies. My favorite thing is to be close to my person. I am the best snuggler. Honestly, close is not close enough. I want to lay right on top of you, snuggle up and fall asleep. I like my crate and sleep in it at night but during the day it's no fun. I can't be trusted to roam the house alone just yet because when I am bored, I find things to tear apart. I am a fast learner though and I want to make my person happy. I think I would do best with another dog in the house that will play with me and to help me learn the rules. I think I would like to have kids around too but they should be a little older because I still like to jump when I am happy.

Tyson (2 years, 2 months)

Learn more about Tyson

Tyson

Tyson is so friendly that he can’t get close enough to you for snuggles. He is 53lbs of lap dog trying to lick your face. He is very much a velcro dog (he likes to stay close to his people). He loves leash walks and doesn’t pull. Tyson is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment. This condition requires low exercise until treatment is completed. Tyson would love to meet and play with new dogs, but it would be best to limit his interactions until his treatment is completed. Tyson is already neutered. He is excellent in his crate and has only marked in the house a couple of times. Luckily, he responds very well to verbal corrections. This sweet love bug would love to meet you, so make sure you put an application in with his name on it!

Rune - COURTESY LISTING

Rune is a sweet, affectionate, active, and silly rescue pup. He is very smart and well trained. He has never had issues with chewing or counter-surfing. He loves to cuddle with people, and learn new tricks. He is very smart and loves to show off all the many tricks he knows (sit, stay, lay, weave through legs, spin, right paw, left paw, "come" to sit facing me, heel to sit at my side, and more). He would do best with older children. He can be dog reactive and should be introduced correctly and slowly to others. Call 602.524.9305 if interested.

Cowpoke (1 year, 2 months)

Learn more about Cowpoke

Cowpoke

Cowpoke is the sweetest dog. He is absolutely a lap dog and wants to cuddle any chance he gets. He is extremely playful and does great with other dogs. He is submissive so he would pair great with a more dominant dog. If you're looking for puppy vibes with none of the hassle, this is the dog for you. He still has that puppy goofiness and clumsiness but he's potty trained, and sleeps through the night on a bed. He's still picking up on basic commands but aims to please. He's a little shy at first but all you need is a stuffed toy to get on his good side and he warms up quickly. Whoever adopts Cowpoke is going to think they're the luckiest person in the world.
